The neutral safety switch on my 94 cherokee seems to malfunction. Is it possible to repair it by cleaning it ? -------------GeezerD

I just took mine off and cleaned it the other day (it had never been off as far as I could tell). Make sure to take the penetrating oil of your choice and spray it daily on the shaft for a few days before taking it off if possible.

Be very patient taking it off, it took me over an hour of wiggling it back and forth and gently prying on it before it finally came free.

Make sure when you open the case up that you have it in a grocery bag in case the contacts decide to shoot out...

Best of luck
