Default can I add on to my lift?

I bought my cherokee in march and the guy said it had a 2 inch lift on it. Im wondering if there is some spacers or something I can put on to give it a little more lift without having to buy a whole lift kit??? Im wanting to keep it cheap but safe cause its a daily driver... btw its a 96 sport 2 door

it depends on what setup is already on there..... if it already has a pair of lift pucks and an add-a-leaf or shackle (a cheap lift) then you'd have to go with a little more cash for coils and full leafs

look in your front wheel wells and look at the coils.... now there is a rubber isolator on the very top of the coil where it meets the body... is this rubber isolator like 1/2"-3/4"'s thick or like 2" thick.......
also in the rear look for where the leaf spring pack meets the rear axle on both sides.... are the leaf springs mounted flush to the leaf spring perch or is there a 2" block the seperates the leafs from the axle?

The rubber isolator on top of the front coils is about 1 inch thick and on the rear it looks like there is a block on top of the perch about 1/2 inch thick...

sounds like the PO added a block in the back and spacers up front. if you don't wheel this thing you could put a bigger block in the back but if you are planning on wheeling it don't this can cause axle wrap and break the springs or rearend. sounds like your best bet would be to save up and piece a lift together, you can do this pretty cheap if you shop around.

I would save up for a 3" Rough Country lift (255 with an AAL) that will give you what you want with a good platform to go bigger if you want

Im not a big fan of lift blocks. They sell rear add a leafs and lift shackles seperately. Personally thats what I would recommend. Less chance of failure. I bought a teraflex 1.5 in budget boost lift kit that included spacers and shackles. It worked great and only cost me 112 bucks. Also you can fit bigger tires if you get a little creative with a jig saw and cut your fenders. With a budget boost lift kit and cut fenders you can fit at least 32 in tires if not 33s.

i'm not a fan of blocks either but some people like them, thats why i told him that if he ws goijn to be wheelin this thing not to use them. with that being said i have 2 in blocks on my ford f150, but this thing is not wheeled just alittle mud every now and again.

Okay i would get a bigger spacer and shackle/AAL trim the fenders then throw some larger tires on it and do work.

If you want a cheap lift for the rear just use the S10 bastard pack. There are write ups her on it, but basically you use the heavy duty spring out of a pre 97 S10. Use the bottom three leaves to get 3" and all four after cutting off the eyes of the main leaf for 4".

The front is another matter. After you get over three inches it starts getting more expensive. You will have to buy some coils. So keep it at three inches if you don't have any money.
