This part on my jeep has come loose and will not stay in, causing an oil leak. It is the oil sending unit switch. Can it be fixed or do I have to replace it?

oil should not be leaking from there unless your sending unit is bad and leaking through the connection. That grey seal is there to keep moisture out of the connection.

no seriously it will fix that. I use that kinda stuff for all kinds of fixes from body work to leaking lines, or you can just replace it.

So you think I should replace the sending unit and see if the oil leak stops.

Yeah, I would replace it. If its the one with a light in the instrument cluster then it should cost around 13 bucks. If its the one for the gauge it should run you about 23 bucks to replace.

if the wire came loose in that weather pack connector you will have to Repin the wire and re-install it...also when any fluid switch starts leaking out the top its toast.
