I haven't tried a CPS yet because I had another code for an O2 sensor, I want to make sure that doesnt come back before I change another part, new O2 sensor is in and no CEL, yet, I hope.. but I do still get the weird power cut... it is weird because i drove all over today with no problems, then all of a sudden it started happening again.
And I have probably been through 3 bottles of Seafoam already since I got this about 5 weeks ago

the only stored code that I had was upstream O2 from before i bought it, and has since been replaced.
Check the IAC valve. It just fixed mine. Didn't cost me a penny, which is nice when you find yourself throwing parts at it. When you take the IAC off run your finger down the housing and see if there is a carbon build up. Mine was awful. Take the throttle body off it's bad. Remove all the sensors and the housing for the IAC valve. Careful when you take it off not to destroy the gasket (it's a jeep only part). Clean the tip of the IAC valve and the entire throttle body. Just a little bit of carbon build up destroyed mine. It would run awful at low RPM's, but if i stomped the throttle it would clean out. Hope this helps, let me know if it helps.

hi, don't know if this is any help to you but my diesel engine cuts out when you give it gas then take your foot of the pedal. had it checked by loads of people which cost a lot and no one found nothing, than i tried a diesel fuel specialist who found the problem it 2 seconds. he said its the fuel injection pump, (not the fuel pump in the tank).it runs off the timing and costs 600 euros to fix. i'm just living with it for now but at least i know what it is. not sure if its the same set up for a petrol motor but could be something like that happening to yours.?

must check out the price, i say i'd get one on line much cheaper than here in ireland. never really messed around with timing before, but do a lot of my own work. always have done. put a new clutch in the jeep awhile ago with help from 2 friends, even rebuilt the 6cyl motor in a 65 mustang i used to own a few years ago. no mechanic but good with the old hands. now that i've discovered this forum i could get all the help i need to do it myself... mmm

Have you replaced all O2 sensors? I had a similar problem on a TJ years ago, no codes were thrown, took it to several shops where they couldn't figure anything. Finally a mechanic buddy of mine decided to check the fuel trim levels and realized that one of the O2 sensors was failing under certain temp ranges and was causing the temporary power loss. Popped a new one in and the problem was instantly solved.
