Camshaft sensor cause these problems?
This is kinda off the wall, but since I had it happen to me... Here goes...
Check the wiring that goes to the rear O2 sensor. If it is hanging down near the driveshaft in a position that it might contact the driveshaft while driving, check all the insulation, wrap it, and tie it up out of the way. If the driveshaft grounds out the O2 heater circut - It will either blow the PCM fuse, or cause all kinds of glitchy behavior.
Ask me how I know...

This is what i pulled... (PO135.02 SENSOR HEATER CIRCUIT BANK 1 SENSOR 1), (PO141.02 SENSOR HEATER CIRCUIT BANK 1 SENSOR 2), (PO138.02 SENSOR CIRCUIT HIGH VOLTAGE BANK 1 SENSOR 2).... Im pretty sure those are all for O2 sensors... I think im gunna go and change the camshaft sensor if its that easy. Question what is the PCM is that a sensor?
You have a problem with the HEATER circuit for your oxygen sensors. Any time you have codes that have the word HEATER in the description for more than one sensor, that indicates a problem with the circuit, not the oxygen sensors themselves. And this really does not sound like a camshaft sensor issue. You need to trust the OBD codes here. They aren't perfect, but they are awfully darn good at pointing you in the right direction and the right circuit.
And the #1 suspect by far is the fuse for that circuit which is located inside of the power distribution center (black box) under the hood on the passenger side. Dflintstone was on the right track here.
I'm not sure of the exact location of this fuse but it is somewhere between 17 and 24. But I am sure that it is a 15 amp mini fuse. Check ALL 15 amp mini fuses if there is any question on fuse location!
You MUST check this fuse before moving onto more complex possibilities like wiring, etc. It is not that uncommon to have an issue here; I have answered similar threads quite a few times before.
Good luck and keep us posted!

Any news?
I have had similar problems with my 96 cherokee. Only mine will throw the crankshaft sensor code when it gets really bad. I already changed the cps and it is still doing it! I am thinking it might be the camshaft sensor for me because mine ran good for 6 weeks after I took the dizzy apart and cleaned it. I believe the two sensors share the same code too. All I know is it's about to drive me up the wall.

check wiring to o2 sensors for bare spots around passsenger side by rear ds touching to ground other members have had similar issues
My engine light flashed again today. I pulled these codes:
P0138 (M) 1/2 O2 Sensor Shorted To Voltage Oxygen sensor input voltage maintained above normal operating range.
P0340 (M) No Cam Signal At PCM No fuel sync.
P1391 (M) Intermittent Loss of CMP or CKP Loss of the Cam Position Sensor or Crank Position sensor has occurred. For PL 2.0L
Similar to the original poster, my Cherokee will run for weeks just fine. Then some days it will just die while stopped or try to die while going 55 down the hwy. It usually will pick itself back up again when driving, but it makes it buck something awful. Some days it is really bad and will buck and try to die the whole way into town. Only other clue is that it seems to have to warm up first before it starts acting up.
Does this pin point my problem for anyone?
Thanks
