Default Camshaft position sensor Transplant

OK. I have my new engine all built and on the stand ready to roar. I have my old engine still in the truck. I want to verify my methods with you guys to make sure I am not missing something totally obvious before doing this because I hear its a total nightmare if you don't get it set correctly.

I plan to set the engine in the truck with the timing mark on the harm. balancer at the 0 mark on the timing cover. I also plan to have the valve cover off to make sure that I can see the position of the rockers. I will then turn my new engine on the stand so that the timing mark on the harm balancer is also at the 0 mark on the timing cover. I will then check to see that all rockers are in the same positions on both engines and that I am not one revolution off. I will then unbolt the Camshaft Position sensor very carefully and transplant it into the new engine. As long as both engines are in the same rotational position there should be no change. Does this sound like a viable plan?
