Camming a 242 daily driver

My guess is the stock cam already allows best economy. A little more performance would be good but seldom are performance and economy associated with each other. Lumpy can be cool.

I cant really tell you what cam to buy but I agree with you that another cam could help in both areas. The factory cam typically gives you the most power while meeting EPA regs while still sticking to something that isn't too expensive to make. If you can get rid of one of those factors you can certainly get more power while being more efficient (more mpg). I wouldn't expect a huge jump in either by just changing the cam though.
