Calling all canadians- kamloops bc area
Hello buddies, guys, and friends,
I am currently traversing your beautiful country in my 88 Xj. My alternator sounds like it needs to retire and I am wondering where a fella could pick up a quality unit at a reasonable price. Tried Napa but they have nothing. Thanks in advance!

What are your symptoms that make you think that your alternator is falling?

Thanks for the response. I thought Canadian tires were like jiffy lubes not parts stores. After driving through the mountains I started hearing a knock in my engine compartment. At first I thought it might be coming from under the valve cover, but cruiser54 suggested I check it with the stethoscope and I found the noise in my alternator.

Thanks cruiser
My wife is from Canada and we have driven through that area. Towns are many miles apart.
I’m glad he got the Jeep fixed.

canadian tire's auto departement is kinda similar to an auto zone or harbor freight. you'll have the house brand (mastercraft) that makes all kinds of tools for cheaper than the competitors, but also while offering other good brands. then there's a counter to order parts and test batteries/alternator and also a tool loaning program. just don't go have anything installed in their garage other than maybe winter tires on your corolla.
