Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

My 1999 Cherokee's A/C vibrates the entire vehicle when the compressor kicks in. There is still cold air blowing, but the vibration is unsettling. Typically will only do it when the A/C is on, but on occasion will happen when not running.

I figured something had come loose or what not, but a peek under the hood didn't reveal an obvious culprit. Any thoughts as to what this might be?

Check the electric fan. My wife was complaining of the same thing on our 2001 XJ, but it wouldn't do it when I was driving. I finally got it to do it in the driveway and discovered that one of the upper mounts on the fan was loose and one of the blades was broken so the fan is out of ballance.
