A/C turned off after a little off roading.
I have a 2000 XJ Cherokee and I took it off road for just a couple hundred feet and was on a side slope. I heard a little clank noise near front wheel well and kept going on the street and noticed the A/C wasn't blowing cold air. I turned the fan off and cycled through the controls and nothing. A couple minutes later,it worked like normal. Now it works. I got home and opened the hood and saw that the breather tube (vacuum?) that connects the air filter housing to the valve cover was disconnected at the air filter. Could this cause it? I dont see how but I'm not sure.
Thoughts?

Nope!
That is just the breather for the crank case. It wouldn't case your AC to stop working. You might want to start with checking any connections related to the AC.
