Steering box brace?

If so then yes. It supports the unibody around where the box bolts to.

98xj-jhon: the crock brace is a steel brace that stiffens the area where the steering box bolts to.

ALSO, anyone here running the detours backbone? i want to purchase it cuz' its cheaper than a full wich bumper.

The c-rock brace replaces the stock aluinuim steering box spacer steering box mounting area is a known weak spot on the xj frame.

x2 what jeepride said,, i change the gearbox and the aluminum spacer breaks,, tried taking it off a couple other xj and the same thing, keeps on breaking,

you could actually just purchase the inner plate from c-rok or get the entire repair/reinforcement kit.

where the gearbox mounts to the unibody, it is prone to crack under stress,

I plan on running the back bone set up, but don't have it yet! There is a wright up on it in the XJ wright up section!

I had the backbone on mine but I just got rid of it for my prerunner bumper. But it deff does make a diff wit that bumper I would recommend a steering box brace.
