Default A/C problem florida Xj

I have a Florida a/c problem and looking for help before I dehydrate. I have had a small pinhole leak since I bought my 99 a few years back always patched with can of r134, suddendly a few days ago there was a horrible vibration and noise that went away when the a/c was shut off and clutch disengaged. With the hood open and the A/C on the clutch engages and I can hear the building noise coming from the compressor then there is a discharge of pressure from what I assume is a pressure relief valve. I tried evacuating some pressure into correct collection/recovery tank. Once done then the clutch does the low freon clutch cycling but as soon as it gets the 134 back to correct level it starts the purge again. I am lost for ideas and would love some imput. im am realitivly competent with automotive mechanics and am not afraid to open her up. Help me so i dont catch fire on the way to the fire station for shift. Thanks again guys and gals. Be safe.

From what I understand r134a systems are very sensitive to both the amount of oil and refrigerant. Dryers and orifice tubes are filters and get crudded up over time. Everything I've read says if u open the system up, replace both and flush the evap and cond. The compressor must be removed, turned upside down to drain the oil so the correct amount can be added back to the system. A vacuum needs to be pulled and the correct amount of refrigerant added. The XJ is fairly easy, did ours last June then took it to a pro to have it filled.
