i have a 1998 jeep grand cherokee 2wd v6 4.0 engine laredo
i just spent a good deal of money on labor and parts to have it fixed after all its hot as heck in florida all year and i've done without it already for 7 years.
anyways based on prior mechanics i got a machanic to do my ac work
the following parts was replaced
condensor
compressor
tube with the oriface tube in it
it was then vaccummed and filled up.
the ac ran very cold and was great while there (this was sunday)
today the mechanic came to do a couple of things and turned on the ac and it was no longer cold, it shows that all the freon put in is gone the system is low
i have the glasses and uv light and later tonight when its dark i am goign to see if i can see any leaks, we could not see any today but he said it would be better to find them when its dark out.
what else could it be?
thanks
ryan

Your half *** mechanic should have let the gauges sit on it before even wasting the 134. The gauges would have shown a leak when he vac'd the system. Don't let him charge you for the additional 134. We used to let the gauges sit for at least 30 minutes when new parts were installed.

i do have to do an update
he did not replace the condensor it was the accumulator that was replaced.
i have a leak somewhere i don't know where
when i get back later tonight i have to use the uv light to look for a leak.
i hope its in the condenser that has a leak or something even easier
i fear its the evaporator and that requires a pulling apart of the dash which i don' thave the funds for
which would mean another six months or so until the next tax return
as i have to worry about replacing some seals at the back of the engine and transmission now, thats more important i guess

well its too late this time around.
i guess he can be blamed for not testing the system as people said in another thread instead he went by what i said another mechanic told me.
i had the parts but it looks like they didn't need to be replaced it looks like my problem this whole time has been a leak somewhere. which kinda sucks if it can be found and is easy to fix, 7 years with no ac in florida.
