OK....folks.....blower motor.....91 cherokee.

blower motor is fine, wired from connector to pos batt term (green wire) and then black wire to ground, blower motor works just fine.

tested the 12v circuit pos term bat to plug pin got 12v.(jeep in "run", switch on "hi", climate lever to heat.)

tested 12v neg term bat to neg plug pin. no voltage, but, get 0 ohms when reading resistance (which is good).

found something that has no reference even in the shop manual......

there are TWO relays on a bracket which is screwed onto the underside of the lower dash assembly.......

I do not see in schematics where they go what they are wired to etc,

the only thing I can think of is one is bad.

or.......the replacement switch I put in is funky.

this has me scratchin hard.... hate to think that A/C low pressure switch would be culprit on this.....but thinking, it has nothing to do with the motor engaging.......

thanks for any input!

gonna have more soon!

Your A/C is not the problem. I would bet its a wiring issue i have seen lots of Chrysler products with bad wiring connections you need to look at the connectors for the relay or the resistor or switch. it might be burned up in side the plug, or look melted.

You might want to check the mode switch the power is turned on from that switch.

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!!!!!!:detectiv e:

Steve97........just so you know I was in process this afternoon of digging DEEP into the dash!!!!!

An what shall be revealed? ALL!

So the schematics I have are not 100% accurate.....HOWEVER,,,,,,,,

By process of elimination (see what had me confused was the yel/violet wire....from the fuse to the climate control panel etc etc....OR SO I THOUGHT..)..well on my rig the 12ga GREEN wire comes from the fuse panel to a separate connector sitting WAAAAAAy back in the dash behind the climate control panel switch vacuum thingy ( i like saying "thingy")......ANYHOW,,,,,,as can bee seen by the semi-crappy video and photos attached....the GREEN wire connector block you can see was melted pretty good.....basically the connector side which "feeds" the control switch-resistor-blower switch green wire pin had gotten so hot it melted itself backwards within the phenolic connector and no longer was making contact to the female side which in turn goes directly to the fuse block where the blower (25amp) fuse resides.....ergo no power to the blower switch.
What was REALLY freakin me out was the fact I was still getting 12vdc at the connector to the blower motor...but that was through another path and not the correct juice...(or proper amperage.)........Bottom line here guys and I WANT TO THANK EACH AND EVERY ONE OF YOU FOR AT LEAST LISTENING TO MY TROUBLES!!!!!!! YOU ALL have at least given me different opinions so I wasn't so tunnel visioned!!! Thats why I like this forum very much and I enjoy helping anyone I can!!!!!!

So now, I have the PIN pushed up into the proper position in the connector and my blower and A/C work great again, but the connector pin/recepticle has been melted pretty well due to current load and age, and possibly also trying to work with a bad resistor pack...this is temporary, I am going to use some 14ga and some good crimp connectors and insulation tape and delete that throughput via the connector......

So bear with the crappy narrative on the video (if you care to)and maybe it might help someone here who might have a similar issue.....
(video too big,,,rrrrrrrrrgh)

Problem solved!

And they ask me why I

Cheers all! Thanks again!

So now that you seen the melting of the connector you should replace the blower motor. Because the reason they melt like that is the blower motor draws tomany amps when they begin to fail. You could replace that section of wire but it will happen again.

Well thanks guys, am definitely going to fix the wiring, as for the blower replacement, the melt is at connector right off fuse box, not after the switch or resistor pack, I would think if the blower is drawing too much current those components wiring would be affected first. also my radio is right above that mess you saw and it gets rather hot when I have it crankin...an besides I am in the desert south west texas, its friggin hot all the time.....

But I will get a blower motor as a spare, just in case it happens!

Thanks again guys, I just wanted to point out for anyone who might have had same problem on their vehicle!

cheers!

Hey. I read your a/c issue..ver ificaton. The connector is behind the climate controls in the dash...Correct? I'll look my next day off..I'd really like some heat this year. What is that animal in the road in your Yosimite pic? Did you camp at Kerr lake in Va.? I lived up that way in high school in Clarksville, Va.

just FYI, the blower low med high switch....only the low and med run through the resistor pack, the high position brings straight 12vdc and sends it straight to the blower....and max/norm switch sort of turns everything on, and if that slider switch is hot or worn out, it won't work either...just FYI...
