Default A/C & Heat Blower

Since I've had my Jeep one thing has worked great: my blower. Today it was hot... and I get no love. No combination of heat/ac/low/high/hot/cold would get any output from my vents.

Where should my troubleshooting start? Not a clue about heat/ac for the most part.

Tap it a few times with a hammer worked for me.

Wish it was this simple; I literally have to tap the blower in my Civic every other time I try to use it (it's under the glovebox and I keep a screwdriver in there just for that reason) so I've eliminated this problem. Went so far as to take out the washer fluid reservoir to get a good solid thud on it.

I don't have an owner's manual but I did some reading and think that #5 is for the blower motor ('96). It's good.

Anything else to check before I yank and replace it?

Ok so upon further investigating I have come to realize that when I turn the fan on and then switch it over to A/C I can hear a gurgle noise coming from the passenger side of the dash area... then nothing.

The blower and heat worked beautifully, and after recharging the A/C a couple weeks ago it also worked awesome. Just tried to get some cold air on me today and was left with nothing.

Need some help, its gonna start getting stupid hot soon.

Removed the blower motor today and tested it directly to battery: works fine.

Where should I head next with my troubleshooting? I doubt it's the connection to the switch behind the dash because when I set it to "A/C" I can actually hear something like a gurgling noise coming from the glove box area of the dash. But at the same time, my compressor no longer clicks on when I switch it.

Could it be the blower motor relay? I'm baffled right now and could really use some advice.

Thanks in advance.

It was the connections behind the dash.

The connections to the A/C-Heat-Vent selector switch.

The electrical connection to the switch. It came unplugged.

okay, cause there are two sets of plugs. your vacuum lines for your blend doors (which controls where the air comes out of your dash, etc) and then there is the plug to the fan speed switch.
