Check the vacuum lines on the actuators for the "flappers":

Here's a picture of the passenger side floor actuator that is inside of the "shield" at the bottom to give you an idea of what you're looking for:

And here's what they look like out of the car. I snagged these pictures off of JF. You can see the vacuum lines I am talking about that plug into the bottom of the actuator.

Passenger side:

"Driver's side" (really in the center behind the HVAC controls, radio, etc)

Hope this helps.

Also check the plastic arms themselves. I've seen them break before, especially the defrost one. You used to be able to get them as a separate part when I worked at the dealership 10 years ago.

ok im having kinda the same issue where im driving at like 50+ mph and if im accelerating my AC will stop blowing but as soon as i let off the gas it starts blowing again. i checked all the vacuum lines to all that was shown above and traced the lines in the engine compartment and all are connected. any other suggestions? nothing seems broken either.

Sounds like either the line to your vacuum resovoir or the resovoir itself has a crack. It's in the front bumper and stores up vacuum to keep the exact thing you're having happen from happening.
