you only have two options:
1. Find an idler pulley
2. Leave it alone
There is no possibility of rerouting a belt around where the compressor would be.

two questions...
1. why are you eliminating the A/C?
2. would you be interested in raising the Alternator?
I dont have A/C (or heat), instead I have an onboard Air Compressor to blow up tires, run air guns, etc, using the A/C compressor (with a 10Gal tank, its a great tool!).
Mudding and other things gets to the stupidly engineered alternator location way down low, and some people will remove the A/C compressor only to put the Alternator in its place. Effectively raising the Alternator to a safer (dryer) location, and then just using another belt.
do a search for them, they are out there if not on this forum, pirate or someone will!
Dont just eliminate it, have a purpose for it! (and the mods are not that strenuous)

I want to remove it cause I don't use it and it makes a awefull annoying squeaking noise.......rather just be rid of it... if I was to move the alt. in its place then does the space at the bottom stay empty? still lookin for a bypass pulley but need it gone one way or the other.....

he relocated the alt on the 95XJ. pics+write up
may want to just see if the thing needs oil or something, cant you oil the compressor? and is it the belt or the compressor itself actually squeeking?
or swap it with a JunkYard special compressor to stop the squeeking, would be cheap enough to just swap id imagine.
But if you plan on doing ANY mudding or going through water on purpose, upgrade the alt. You WILL fry them if you dont, at some point.

Howdy Doughboy, Mine was making noise, and it finally wound up seizing on me. Be careful or you'll be looking at a tow job. I waited til mine was totally cool, then cut the serp and drove like a maniac to the garage.
