yes! thank god I got this problem fixed. so rewarding. ha. ok here is how i cracked this code. at least as i see it.
I searched for vacuum diagrams relating to A/C components and came across this
and then this
i started by following the line shown in the first pick, it was taped to another line, I turned my wheel to give me more clearance. I followed it up from point 4 to 6 -5 -3 and then I noticed a connector, I disconnected it and decided the only way to find this was to blow into the hose to determine if any leaks were there. I heard a noise and instantly followed the hose to feel the leak or leaks. I found it and only one was present and to my astonishment a tiny hole was present right after the bend in 3, I immediately fixed it up and my A/C is blowing through the VENTS !!!! it is awesome FULL BLOWN COLD A$$ A/C
I'm having the same issue. I followed the diagrams and traced the vacuum line from the engine down the left side of the frame, and after removing my battery, I found the line severed with no sign of the remaining line. In other words, I don't know where it should connect to.
I found it here, underneath my battery box.
Severed vacuum line.
This is a '95 by the way. There's no canister present in my front bumper as it shows in the diagram.
Does anyone know where this line is supposed to go?

hey guys, i have a leak and need to find/fix. im also going to replace heater core and ac evaporator so im curious which hose/lines you used to repair. what was the inner & outer diameter of the hose/line you used to replace? did you go with rubber, silicone or other?
I know this is a long shot since the last post is from 2017 but here goes. My Cherokee is only blowing out the defrost. It doesn't matter what you turn it to, meaning if you turn it to AC it will blow air without turning on the AC compressor. I did find a break in a vacuum line and I fixed that but I still have the same issue. No matter what I turn the middle dial to it will only blow hot or luke warm air. I'm not going to spend 242 dollars for a new climate control set of switches. I'm looking at ebay for some used ones tho. How do I attach the new/used climate control vacuum lines to my old lines?
Please help

Willing to bet it is NOT the control.
Depending on the year, more than likely it is a vacuum leak somewhere. Or it could be the one-way vacuum valve that goes in line at the T in the engine compartment. (this happened to me with my Cherokee)
First off what year is your Cherokee?
Second.
Go to Cruiser54.com for a manual that will show vacuum lines for your year Jeep.

I'm driving a 98' cherokee. I ran my fingers up and down all the lines from the softball sized vacuum canister in the front bumper. The only break I found was in a small line line going into the firewall on the passenger side near the heater core hoses. To be honest tho it was cold and I could have missed something.
I followed my vacuum line, ends behind the battery. What is the part called behind the front bumper this line is suppose to connect to so I can order it? thank you
