It seems that even when I turn on the heater and have it set to blow on windshield I can still hear the fan clutch engange and disengage. After a while of driving, I can see the condensation puddle on the ground when parked.

I assume it's not normal correct? How do I stop it from doing this?

Setting it to defrost automatically kicks on the compressor to "dehumidify" the air. Completely normal and I'm not sure you can deactivate it, easily at least.

Any of the 5 vent selector positions circled in yellow engage the compressor. The 2 (white) vent selector positions not circled are the only positions that do not engage the compressor.
