Default a/c compressor problems

recently ive started having this issue that when i fire my jeep up there will be a grinding noise coming from my a/c. it goes away whenever my compressor turns on. there is also a squeaking coming from it constantly. also my clutch is almost clicking and not turning. what could be my issue? should i charge my system using one of the a/c pro cans or do i need a new compressor because the bearings are worn out. is it easy to just replace the clutch or would i have to get a whole new unit.

most of the a/c clutch repair kits i find are 70-80 i can get a whole a/c compressor from a junkyard for 75 and a re manufactured one for 115 on ebay. is there a way to be sure that its just the a/c clutch and not the compressor? i cant turn the pulley on the a/c at all by hand, its completely locked up.

I was having that for 2 days where the noise would go away when the clutch went in. But now the pulley is completely locked up. It won't turn by hand. is this all i would need to replace the clutch? http://www.ebay.com/itm/AC-Compresso...-/121098241984

Would a bad a/c clutch cause the whole compressor to lock up and not spin at all. I'm debating my options to get my jeep running again. Ill either order a compressor off eBay or a clutch. If I replace the compressor what has to en done so that I have a/c again. Do I only need to put freon in it?

Put a socket on center nut is like a small engine you have to turn over the pistons it wants to make pressure it not gonna spin like a water pump will . If you buy a compressor make sure its got a clutch on it.Then you gotta empty and refill system. With a clutch its just replace and go.
