My A/C compressor is squeeling. It started after replacing my radiator and accidently disconnected my a/c lines to the little radiator thing, loosing all the freon. So i bought a can of freon refrigerant and put the entire contents in it, the a/c blows cold, but upon start up with the a/c on it squeels and then after a short time is stops. and from time to time it'll squeel while im at a stop light. I heard the issue was a lack of oil in the compressor. Is there any way to add oil to the system to make the dam thing shut up?

 

Mine does the same thing when I turn on the A/C except its more of a growl instead of a squeel. Are you sure you dont need a new belt? I fixed my squeel with a new belt but now it just does that growling noise for about 30 sec.

 

it only happens when the a/c is on. and it disappears when i turn it off. so i dont think the belt needs to be replaced...

 

When the a/c is on is usually when the belt squeals.

 

x2. Check for glazing as well. But if it is to tight or to loose it will squeal.
