A/C compressor delete
I know this thread is old, but my Idler Pulley under the compressor seized and stripped the threads to it. The diagram in the engine compartment clearly shows an alternate routing that bypasses the AC Compressor and this Pulley. Bought the 71" belt at Napa, but it is too short by maybe a few inches.
I have a 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee with 4.0 Engine. Anyone know the correct length of this belt. I know the correct length belt will work and everything will turn in the correct direction because the shorter belt let me see that much.
thanks

Solved: On My 1995 Grand Cherokee 4.0 72" Dayco 5060720 Belt worked, guess I wasn't as off as I thought. maybe if i loosened the adjuster screw under power steering pump all the way, The Napa Recommended belt PBH 6K710 may have worked, maybe. Everything turns in proper direction because the Belt diagram without A/C removes consecutive 2 pulleys A/C and Idler, thereby changing no other components rotation.
So to all the threads that said it couldn't be done, it can. Personally, I will use a 72" from now on, it is plenty tight and I have plenty of room for adjustment if it loosens up. Maybe something in my jeep has been ghetto'd, maybe someone used a bigger idler or something, who knows.

Shortcut for anyone ever needing a custom belt size...
The last 3 numbers in the part # is always the length in inches.
ie. xxxx720 = 72.0"
xxxx715 = 71.5"
Etc etc. Just have to match the number of ribs beyond that

I've got the A/C Bypass pulley but it doesn't seem to fit my belt. I just can't get my belt on with the tensioner completely loose. How do you guys get it on?

It's for a 93 but it all looks to match as far as the location goes. It looks like the pulley could be a hair bigger. I threw out my old belt before I got the new one in (dammit). I ordered two from Partsgeeks and both seem to be a bit too small.
