Alright guys i need some help. I have a 1997 xj, 4.0, aw4. A few weeks ago i noticed a buzzing/ whining noise coming from my Jeep. I figured it was just being moody and it would just go away. Well it hasent and now it is annoying me. It gets worse as the rpm's go up and does it in every gear(including neutral) so its not tranny related. When i start it and its cold, it makes the noise at idle until it warms up and then after it warms up, it only does it when i accelerate or give it gas. Any ideas?
mine has been doing this loud buzzing/squealing noise and changes with RPM alittle only when cold. Unchanged when A/c on or off, its not a belt squeal. It sounds more like a bearing buzz and goes away as it warms up. The colder it is out the longer it does it.
