Busted block
my jeep buddy bought a used engine to build into a stroker and found this busted boss for one of the bolts that holds the tranny to the engine
we was thinking maybe repairable by welding a stud there So the tranny will be connected by a stud and nut rather than a bolt
comments? Good idea or stupid?
he wants to make this engine into a 4.6 stroker for his XJ as he needs more power to haul his trailer.
or should he get a different block?

I'd soak it in brake cleaner, braze a stud in there, then steel epoxy around it and run it. Stud won't get in the way when marrying the transmission, and those e12s are annoying anyways. Obviously not ideal, but should be fine as long as the two big bolts on the side and the other one on top are tight.
