Burnt up 2 Alternators

My Jeep keeps burning up alternators. I installed a new one 2 months ago and it went bad and would not give off any charge. I installed one last night and it gave a charge for a few min then quit. what could be burning them up? It is an 89 xj 4.0. It is a new battery. the cable from the alternator to the battery is good. any ideas?

when they charge are they over charging by any chance

Swap again under warranty... I used to work at Autozone and brand new parts come back bad alot... batteries mostly... I've installed many new ones only for them to be bad... non dead but bad... lol... parts same way... try some electric grease on the fittings and keep it out of water... see how it does...
