Burning smell from rear axle

I have a 98 XJ that has a burning smell coming from the rear axle driver side ... Can only smell it when I stop from a drive. Guessing it's an axle seal? But not 100% sure.

Is the brake drum hot after the drive? Could be the brakes seizing up.

i just noticed it a few hours ago, haven't had the time to pull the tire off
