Default Burning oil inconsistently

So I typically have some oil burning during interstate driving but inconsistent. A 2 hour drive will burn usually around 2 quarts or so. Driving around town occasionally it smokes and burns some but negligible. I will also inconsistently have small oil spots underneath the vehicle. I'm wondering if it may be the rear main seal starting to leak and could it be the piston rings having gone bad or going bad? I had a large overheating problem that ended up in replacing every component of the closed cooling system, including the headgasket, and it ran really hot on occasions but never for long distances (ie: pulled over as soon as I had a good stop to do so). Could it have burned out my piston rings?

Cooked valve stem seals, scored cylinder walls, broken or burned rings, cracked head, etc.

Any or all are possibilities. That is a lot of oil consumption.

The little drips are minor.

You burn two quarts in two hours? That's A LOT of oil you're burning. I thought my 1 quart/week rear main seal leak was bad.

Time for a major engine overhaul, you cooked that one. Never keep driving one once it has gotten hot like that, have it towed and save an engine.
