So I know that my xj leaks a little bit of oil but how can I tell if its burning oil? Will white smoke come out of my exhaust? because that happened the other day but it hasnt been driven in a while. Thanks

Blue smoke would be oil.
White smoke is one of two things. A small amount of white smoke when it's humid, cold, or just after startup that goes away after the motor warms up is normal. This is just condensation. A large amount of white smoke all the time that smells sickly sweet is coolant, and indicates one of three things: Cracked block, blown head gasket, or a cracked head.
