Default A bumper question for anyone with an 88 xj...

i have an 88 xj and before i bought it, it was in a minor rear end accident and the bumper was ruined, the kid cut the rear bumper, but not the mounting brackets, off with a torch but left the brackets still on the truck. he gave me a new bumper to put on it (from a newer xj so i hope everything lines up), but that was also torched off. when i went to pull the brackets off to weld them to the bumper (since i dont have access to a welder at home and i cant drive it) i snapped 3 bolts and had to cut a forth.

So my question is, the mounting bolts, are they nuts and bolts, or are they're threaded holes welded on the back that bolts go into? i can't really tell by looking at it cause everything is rotted and rusty.

and just cause im proud of what i did, this bumper was in rough condition when i got it.

im pretty sure they are nuts welded to the metal from the factory, just drill them out and go get some nuts to put on some new bolts.
