My Jeep blew up today.
I joined the 0331 club. Does anyone know of an exhaust manifold that fits a 2001 Jeep Cherokee without the cats on it? Since it's got to come out I might as well make some changes. Any help would be appreciated.

This is if you went to the old 0630/7120 head but kept the stock cast manifold.
What head casting are you putting back in?

I have replaced my 0331 head with a 0630 head. This involved changing out the exhaust to match the 0630 config. I had the exhaust shop install 2 O2 bungs drilled in each collector so it still kind of matches the orig 0331 config For the 2 primary sensors. One sensor for plugs 1-2-3 and other sensor for 4-5-6. The down / crossover pipe had to be changed to the 0630 config .Then i had 2 more O2 bungs installed behind the "resonator/ 2nd cat" but in front of the muffler. I then extended the O2 sensor wires to mount way down there so i run a stock 01 sensor config that throws no codes. I had already done the coil rail eliminator mod so that was no longer an issue. The new motor is a 97 stroked to approx a 4.8L. It was not very difficult , did all the work myself except the exhaust welding....no issues and the 0331 head and exh would have been useless on a stroker

Sorry for the long response time. I appreciate the feedback. I went with a reman from Powertrain Products out of Maryland. I'll take the 7 year unlimited mile warranty. It seems that they put a 0331 back on it. I brought this up to the salesman and he assured me that all of the bad 0331's are all gone and that the new ones are better and do not crack. I guess I have 7 years to find out. I'm just in a bind right now and need to get her back on the road as soon as I can. She's my daily driver but I also use her for work when the need arises . I'm driving the work van right now but the van doesn't have 4 wheel drive and that's when the XJ comes into play. I live on the OBX and need her for the sand land jobs we have going on. In the future when I decide to do the head switch it will take a custom exhaust to make it happen?

I dont know if you need a custom exhaust but it will need to be a "modified" exhaust. If you got a 7 year warranty on the engine/head and they actually warranty it, thats fantastic. The body will be almost 30 years old by then and i doubt you will be re-engining a jeep that old especially driving in that salty sandy environment
