Default BUDGET STROKER

hey guys, im new here. just was looking for some opinions on some stuff, and any ideas. i have a stock 92 XJ. i want it to be mean as all off road, something i can take out into the desert, climb some good hills, run thruogh snow, sleet, hail, mud whatever. but also something that can handle itself on road too, and when i say handle itself i mean something to get decent gas mileage with... 12-15 city, and can keep up with a p.o.s. vtech, or srt4 or whatever the kids drive. i've seen a couple 4.7's that are pulling 300 horses... i'd love to have that but can't really afford it i dont think, i'm looking to put about $2500 or so into my baby so that i can get what i want on and off road. so any ideas on what i can do? thanks guys.

I wouldn't do a stroker, they are fickle creatures. I almost did one but after running through all the math I realized that I wouldn't be able to get it to run how I wanted. I would instead gear it, and upgrade the drivetrain first.

Check out Titan Engines. http://www.titanengines.com/index.ph...ducts_id=26359
They have a 4.6/4.7 stroker right at $2500 bucks.
Or you can pick up a junk yard motor for cheap and buy the stroker parts and have a machine shop build it the way you want for just about the same price if not cheaper.
