Cool, I didnt know best buy sold harness kits. I'm upgrading the radio because I need an AUX port in my current one but I dont want to change the look of the vehicle from that era and the uconnect 130 would look perfect and fit my needs. Heres a photo of someone who did it.

I don't give a damn what it looks like, but it is classier than the retarded 1DIN units from Best Buy with rainbow cycling lights and tiny buttons.

Idk..... chopping the Crap out of the surround and making something kinda fit doesn't go over in my book. The lines look like Crap. I like my black and green kenwood with blue tooth and such. Looks clean and works 100x better that any factory deck.

If you modified the dash plate to not LOOK like you cut a hole big enough to fit a larger-than-factory deck, it would probably be alright. I'm with Ross though, to me it's always been kind of an annoyance having a 1.5 DIN deck that's flush-mounted to everything and fits like a glove and the getting an adapter that basically fits a rectangular peg into a rounded-off corner hole... and then it's not even flush with the dash - every one of them I've seen sticks out like a 1/4".
I'd be interested to see what you're workin' on.
