Default bucking, jerking after removing instrument cluster

Hi all i'm new to this forum,

wondering if anybody could think of why a '97 xj would start to buck and stall on grades and at low rpm after dash removal, replacment.

i ripped the dash out to free a speedo needle stuck at the peg, now i'm getting these problems after putting it all back.

any possibility i may have disturbed ignition wiring or something on the steering column (while removing trim)?

thanks,
T

As far as i can contribute now, to any who might be curious, I know the speedo needle is driven by an electromagnetic coil which based on my understanding of electronics would draw current if it were free to move; low current draw, high impedance if immobilized.
