Default Bubbling around spark plugs? Valve cover gasket?

So I got a nice oil leak. Engine was oily as hell because obviously the PO only felt it necessary to keep adding oil rather than trying to fix the problem. I cleaned the top and sides of the engine good with carb cleaner, especially on the passnegers side where the leak was coming down from, drivers side looked pretty clean, and drove it up and down the road a bit. I'm 95% sure it's the valve cover gasket. When I'm lookin at the engine it's bulging out the drivers side and the leak is in the front of the engine on the passengers side.

I also noticed when looking at the spark plugs that there's a little bit of minor bubbling around a couple of them in the front around the area where the leak is while the enginge is running. The coolant in the tank looks good and the engine never overheated (atleast under my watch) even when driving it an hour home, so I'm thinking (hoping) it's not a head gasket.

Would the valve cover gasket being bad cause this bubbling? Man, I sure hope so.

Eh I'll just change the gasket, clean the cover up real good, and get new plugs and hope that solves the problem.

Any recommendation on what plugs to get? Regular ol' copper Autolites?
