Default brown dog motor mounts

Installed my new mounts and torqued the through bolts as per instructions.
The vibration at idle is real bad...is this because the through bolts are too tight or is this normal?

Did you read up on the different bushing options you could have gotten? Brown dog offers a couple and pretty much the difference is how still the bushing is.

I've had this same experience with my 4cyl comanche....loosen the through bolts a little bit because there are lock nuts in the bolts and it should lighten the vibration....

But it doesn't guarantee that it will eliminate the total amount of vibration...
After a few days I changed over to the oe motor mounts because I couldn't handle the vibrations for a DD....

These mounts are awesome for a trail rig as my opinion...

My BD motor mounts really smoothed out after about a month of driving. At first they were unreal for a DD (even with the rubber bushings.)

I just installed a set of brown dog poly mounts which would be the harder mount available and the vibration is not bad at all I would try loosening the bolts like the instructions say keep backing off a 1/4 turn until you are happy with it but that's just my $0.02!

I got the rubber ones, loosened them up bout 1/2" turn. Did them up 48 pound feet. It is a alot better but idle in gear is still shaky...ill keep driving for a while and see if if settles or just loosin a bit more. Pleased with the performance with take off...huge difference.
