Bronco rear dana 44?
just wondering if a rear dana 44 will work in a 95 XJ sport.

In '78-'79 the bronco came with the D44 front & ford 9" rear, but yes the ford 9" is from what I've heard a direct swap! I don't think they came with 3.55 gears though, I'd take it to six states & have them check the gears...

My 79 Bronco had 3.55s but I wouldn't say it was a bolt in. You will need new spring perches and shock tabs and different brake lines cause they are bigger. Also it has a 5x5.5" bolt pattern and is about 6" wider.
That 44 has cast wedges and if you don't plan on using the ford radius arms you will prob have to replace the tubes because the tubes don't run thru the wedges. It is also wider and has the bigger bolt pattern like the 9".
