Default Broken valve cover bolt

I changed the gasket for the valve cover and after tightening and driving, I checked to make sure everything was tight and a bolt broke off. Now what? Center punch and an easy out bit?? Or should I leave it and see if if spits out oil from the bolt. Help!

ok, so I got the broken stud out with out much hassle. Didn't realize the bolts go all the way through the cover and the head. Now where can I find a replacement? Autozone doesn't have them. Jeep dealer is closed so I can't call, but I'm sure there expensive from them. Junk Yard? Someone on CF ship me one for cheap!!

Any bolt with that thread pattern should suffice. Not a big deal really.

Those bolts don't need to be terribly tight. You can make it leak going too tight.

1/4"-20x1" (or 1-1/4", I don't quite recall, and screws for the cast cover are longer than screw for stamped covers.)

Torque to spec given on my site - it's pulled from FSMs. I believe it's 7 pound-feet/84 pound-inches, but check.

Yea I have misc. bolts laying around, I'm gonna try one of those and just keep my eye open for a junk xj in somebody's backyard. The JY around here are pretty high on price. I do need other parts though, so maybe a trip to one or two JY would be worth it.
