Default Broken TPS

me and my wife were travelling on highway. suddenly engine lost power and it was not responding to pedal. i found that tps is the issue. i unplugged it and managed to return back. during this car was in limp mode and we lost overdrive.

i bought aftermarket TPS since i could not find oem, now car works ok but idle is fast. i think this sensor is out of calibration. my scangauge says throttle is open @ %16 actually it. %11. stay away from aftermarket brands. i will need to modify mounting holes for screws to twist sensor itself and fix like that to make it think it is %11.

fyi.

I would also check your vacuum line to make sure that you didn't knock on loose when working on it. I know I have knocked many off when working on mine and it will cause a high idle.

I would not modify the holes. Order an OEM one online and just deal with the high idle for now. Only the renix ones are made to be adjusted.

Did you remove your throttle body when you changed your TPS? If so the gasket could've been torn or compromised.

Either way sounds like a throttle body leak somewhere.

no, i only removed tps itself. when shifted into d or r, idle speed is correct.

today after two warm ups it seems it adjusted new initial starting value for tps. it idles at 700 rpm but tps value shown on obd protocal is still %17 weird.

let me try this for few days. i think computer has an algorithm to compensate differences may occur in time. so if it calibrates itself there will be no problem.
