I was changing the water pump for the first time and got around to putting the serpentine belt back on. Not thinking, I tightened everything before I started tightening the tension bolt. Needless to say, it snapped in half.
Do I have to get a specific replacement bolt or can I get a high-pressure bolt from the hardware store? I'm guessing the bolt was about 5 inches.
Also, which blots should I keep loose while doing the tension bolt? I am guess the top bolt, the bottom nut under the pulley, and the two bolts in back.
Thanks for the help!
