broken shifter cable

The shifter cable broke where it connects to the shifter. Need to know what years will work with my 89 4.0. OReillys has one but it's 115. Not paying that much for a Damn cable

Amazon.com has them for $60 that's where I got mine from. As far as different years the package said 88-90. Not sure if others would work or not.
