broken rear shock bolt
Recently I had a lift kit installed on my jeep by a shop and of course some rear shock bolts snapped. Well I guess they decided to do a dick job at drill/retapping the hole because I can turn the bolt with zero effort.... I've decided to do the preferred method of breaking the spot welded nuts at the top and running bolts through. The problem is I don't know how to hammer the nuts off without having a bolt or stud in them. Can I take a air chisel and just hit them from a angle or does it have to be dead center?

EDIT Re reading I see your nuts there and stripped? Just bash threw/up with something bigger than the stripped hole in the nut?

Punch larger than the hole in the nut and BFH or air hammer.
Took me 5 minutes to fix all 4 bolts once I pulled the air hammer out.
Wear safety glasses as rust will fly at your face from all over the undercarriage.
Good luck!

Yea & yea. I know nuts and bolts pretty well, but not thees ones. Since I have drills and taps I might consider just going up one size. Or maybe that is not practical....I guess they DO bash free easy enough. If you tap them, it might reward you down the road if you ever come back to it.
