Is the bolt sagging down? You could remove the shock and weld the bolt head to the mount so it won't move up and down...

Sorry it took so long to replyand yes you are correct. If necessary you can weld the back of the new shock bolt however I don't think you will need to do that.

Sorry to bump this old post, but broke mine yesterday. What size threads do I need on the new bolt? Would like it to match the other stud. Thanks.

Yes, I drilled all of the way through and used a long bolt. This way if it got mangled on rocks in the future I could just get a new bolt and nut.

Default Just did this

Had to do the upper bolts on both side in the rear.
only had one of the lower bolts. Used a 5/8 x 4” grade 8. Took all weekend. Did some corrosion control while I was at it.

Upper bolts - wire thread to get them in the frame.

Lower bolt. Drilled out to 5/8th

The bottom doesn't look like it has a lot of wiggle room. I used the Crown replacement shock stud J0912703 when I snapped one of mine:

Timmy D...Can you be more specific on the removal of the upper bolts? ....Mine are rusted so bad that would require heat from a torch, but obviously that would start a fire from the jute & inside carpet......Is this just a nut & bolt that I could snap off, or is the bolt fastened to the mounting plate......The lower nut was a piece of cake using the torch.....Thanks........

The bottom stud? It's welded in so oil won't do anything. I ground both sides flush then drilled a 9/16" hole.

Monroe makes a product haven't tried it tho:

Amazon Amazon

The Crown bolt don't come with nuts so you'll need to get a 7/16 and a 9/16 fine thread.

I soaked mine with PB Blaster and the bolt still broke. You could try drilling out the broken bolt or take a punch and just bust out the nut weld then thread the bolts thru the frame to the original holes using a lock washers & nuts to secure em

You guys need to try Freeze-Off for those rusty bolts. works great and is easy on the wallet.
