Broken rear diff options

Thats a great build.
I replaced the rear end over the weekend but I have another issue now.
The tranny slips bad in anything but 1st/2nd.
Any ideas on this. When the rearend broke it came too a abrupt halt.
will my aw4 from my 87 fit my 94 or is it something simple like the tourque convertor.

Im even less experienced in auto trannies.

not really, 87-90 AW4 is 21-spline output to the t-case, 91+ is 23-spline. If you have the t-case along with the donor tranny, it should. I don't think the electronics are different, but double check that (AW4 bible thread on NAXJA)
