So I have investigated my broken front driver seat and this time I took video and uploaded it to youtube for your viewing pleasure. If you have any tips or comments just let me know.

 

I had a similar problem in my 99 only quite a bit worse. My seat frame had 2 of the bolts ripped all the way out and was also torn in 10-15 other spots. (previous owner was 350+ pounds) I took the cover loose from the seat so I could access all the broken spots and put a welding glove between the broken spot and the seat foam to contain the sparks and welded everything back together. As far as the bolts that were ripped out, I welded a 3/8" washer in it's place and then put the cover back on and bolted the rails back down. I probably am not going to keep the seat for long since its filthy anyway but it will work for now so I can at least test drive the jeep while I'm working on it.

 

xxj seats will come completely a part if you investigate if assembly then just hit the u pull it jy for a donor frame

 

99 jeep cherokee sport; my driver's seat broke in the same manner. Two of the bolts broke loose of the floor mount. I used some random steel brackets I bought at a hardware store to remount it. It was a simple fix and has lasted since 2008 so far
