Oh ya know that but I pulled this part out and everything worked again any idea what the hell it is?

 

Have the same issue with the brake lights not working, had done a search to find the location of the switch for 1992 XJ laredo to get pics and nothing came up. Switch had come off mounting point and was bad to boot

 

Got it fixed had dismount the pedal switch it was filled with dust and cleaned it up alittle royal purple Maxfilm and good to go
