Default Breaking RTV Seal

I am in the process in changing my trans fluid and filter and I can't seem to break the trans pan RTV seal. All the fluid is drained out and all the pan bolts are off. I have been trying to wedge in a screwdriver between the pan and the trans, but that hasn't been working so good. Any ideas?

Also I can't get the transfer case fill plug off either. What are some ways of getting that off besides penetrating oil?

I had a hell of a time getting my T-case plug off. I would use visegrips as a last resort. I got a good 6 point socket ($15, only had impact) and would still round the plug. Ended up using penetrating oil, heat, and had to chisel back some of the plastic washer to get more grip.

Try using a drywall putty knife, or a gasket scraper. Don't use a screwdriver, it'll gouge the mating surface of the tranny. Work your way around, in a little at a time. You'll get it.

Chisel and a rubber mallet is what I use , you can also hit the RTV at the seam with some chemtool it will loosen it up some , but a flat chisel and a mallet around the edges usually works fine
