Break squeak
I just got a 98 Cherokee and had the dealer put new pads on it before I bought it and not when I press the break lightly I get a squeal for a second then stops. Any idea what I can do to fix this?

Hi and welcome to the forum. They will do that sometimes when new but should wear in shortly and stop squeaking...Tj

You could also try hitting the rotor and pads with brake parts cleaner and blast them dry with compressed air.
Could possibly be oil/crap on things, or them not seating yet.
If it doesn't go away with a slight cleanup, then give it a bit of time.
