Default Break line repair advice

So 2 days ago, my brakes died while doing 65 on the way home.

Luckily, I remembered that the e-brake is cable-driven rather than hydraulic, or else it would have ended in tragedy.

On researching the problem, I found the resoivoir to be full of dot 3, so I neglected a full system inspection, assuming the problem to be the brake booster.

After scrounging for parts and getting home, I noticed that I had, literally, 3 drops of mystery fluid on the pavement.

On further inspection, I found that the steel rear brake line had burst, and when I pulled the cap, it started leaking.

Somehow, either as a result of this burst, or coincidentally (though, I don't believe in coincidences), the brake booster vacumme hose became disconnected.

always, Always, ALWAYS do a full brake system inspection when troubleshooting a brake system problem.

Had I done so initially, I would have saved myself 8 hours of JY treasure hunting.
