I'm going to be replacing the radiator on my XJ; it has a very small slow leak. After what feels like an endless amount of research, I've decided to just stick with the plastic end tank radiator. While I'm in there, I'd like to replace the water pump and fan clutch as well.

My XJ has no overheating issues, and runs at 210* consistently.
I don't really off-road in a manner to put an extreme overheating strain on the system, but it does need to be in top shape for Las Vegas stop/go traffic, light off-roading, and loaded down hills at highway speed.
Putting in a ZJ fan clutch does not seem appropriate for me- it's overkill, loud, power-robbing, and too close to the radiator for my comfort. I'm ok with the stock XJ fan clutch.

All that said, any input as to what brand water pump and fan clutch I should get? Too many options for me to decide.

Water pump:
Duralast $33
Valucraft $29
Gates $19
AC Delco $26

Fan Clutch:
Duralast $36
GDP $24
Hayden $27
Four Seasons $36
Omix-ADA $43

I went with gates water pump and hayden fan clutch. No issues yet.

Replace your hoses while you're at it.

OEM, that is what most will recommend.

Just redid my cooling system. Gates w/p and NAPA fan clutch. Also replaced the belt and idler pulley. If you haven't gotten a radiator yet you can have one delivered to your door for under $83 from Auto Zone(Spectrum Premium).

I also have the Spectra radiator and it works well. Also, you might want to consider a thermostat. I went OEM mopar on that one.

x2 on hayden. gauge read exactly 210 and would often overheat in traffic in the past and after replacement it's been slighly under the 210 mark and no overheating yet

Did the MOPAR thermostat to. All hoses/clamps and radiator cap.

Tip for OP. If you have an A/C condenser clean the fins while your radiator is out.

I had bad luck with a Hayden clutch. Failed out the box.

Went with a clutch from NAPA. Works great.

Same with a water pump - NAPA.

OEM if you got the bux.

1992 4.0 XJ part numbers:

Mopar pump, part number 4626215AF - MSRP $123

Mopar clutch, part number 68064284AA - MSRP $133

I do not have the money to spend on OEM. I'm replacing the rad, wp, fc, hoses, wp inlet tube, and eliminating the heater control valve.
I replaced the idler pulley 18 months ago. I replaced ther thermostat about 3 years ago, but it's so cheap I'll probably do it again and keep the current one as a spare.

Normally my parts come from Autozone, Rock Auto, or the junkyard, but I have to buy online for these parts (I'm stationed in Korea at the moment). I'm getting the Spectra Premium radiator from rockauto for $65- Autozone price is $103. Even though Autozone does free shiping to APO, it's still significantly cheaper from rockauto.

Thanks for the input

At AutoZone the radiator has a lifetime in store warranty in needed, mine came from there also.

And normally I'd prefer to get it from Autozone for that exact reason... but not at a 50% price increase. I think it's worth the risk. Worst case scenarion, it takes a dump and I'm out $60. I won't be ahppy, but I won't go bankrupt.

Did the same thing when I changed my radiator on my toy 1997 Cherokee. Working good so far. Changed radiator, water pump, thermostat, fan clutch, and hoses.. it's not a daily driver but I have put it too the test a few times. All still good..
