Default Brand new ac compressor squeaks

Just replaced my ac compressor because the old one seized up. Had the system vacuumed out by a tech, attempted to add the correct amount of oil to the new compressor but it wouldn't take the 8 oz the manual said. Added refrigerant to my system. Everything works great, clutch engages and blows cold air. Only issue is, the compressor squeaks a tiny bit at idle, and when I accelerate it gets a little louder. I can't hear it on the freeway it's too quiet but I know it's there. Any help?

Make sure that the squeak is coming from the new compressor and not just the belt. The belt on our 4.0 has to be really tight so it won't squeak.

The system oil capacity is 8.1 ounces. The compressor needs 4.1 ounces.

Okay, the belt is as tight as the previous belt, I'll tighten it a bit more and see if that solves it. Also if I add more oil to the system now could that possibly fix it or is the damage already done? It has a 2 year warranty so I'm not too worried. Thanks for the help guys.

When you have a compressor seize up you are to replace the accumulator and the liquid line (fixed orifice). And, have the remainder of the system components flushed.

Installing a new compressor in a system without doing the above will normally void any warranty on the compressor because of contaminents in the system from the nuked compressor.

Adding more oil will not help at this point.

BTW, before you installed the new compressor did you add the lube to the suction side opening then turn the shaft several turns to move the lube around inside the compressor? And, did you tilt the compressor up on the clutch end for about five minutes to lube the drive shaft seal?

SO TRUE!
Most people don't read the warranty card stating this and leaves them S.O.L. when the do have a problem with there new compressor.
